Plot Summary
Uglies is the first book of the trilogy. It's about a world in which everyone has an operation when they turn sixteen, making them supermodel beautiful. Big eyes, full lips, no one fat or skinny. This seems like a good thing, but it's not. Especially if you're one of the uglies, a bunch of radical teens who've decided they want to keep their own faces.
My Review
Hmm...I'm not quite sure where to start with this book. I think I am sitting on the fence, not loving it but not hating it. The ideas and the futuristic setting is well thought out and interesting however I didn't like the characters. Especially Tally. I dont know why but she just annoyed me. She was so self-centered that she got on my nerves so much I had to skip chunks of pages to get rid of her. Which was very hard considering she was the main character.
Also the plot was a bit predictable however I haven't read anything about turning people pretty so far in this genre. But i haven't read a lot so who knows. Anyway you know those books that you absolutely cannot put down? The ones that every spare second you have it spent reading them? Well this one was strange. When I was reading it i didn't want to stop. However when I wasn't reading it I didn't want to start reading it again. I don't know why this was. But I'll let you guys be the judge if you read it.
Score 6 out of 10

I actually just finished this book. I agree with the whole thing about how she can be self centered although it never really made me want to skip any pages.
